CARL ERHART LAID TO REST
Funeral services for Carl Erhart, Deepwater, who died July 6, 1962, at Clinton General Hospital, were held at 2:00 p.m., July 8, at the Deepwater Christian Church. The Rev. Chester Smart officiated. Mrs. Leo McGinness, soloist, was accompanied by Miss Carleda Chaney organist.
Escorts for the burial in Deepwater cemetery were Ervin and Franklin Chaney, Glen Campbell, Gene Reynolds, Vernon Smith, Wilburn Scrogham. Hurst - Jansens funeral service was in charge.
Carl Erhart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Erhart, was born on a farm in Henry county where he grew to manhood. On Jan. 25, 1903 he was united in marriage to Miss Lenora Selvy who preceded him in death Dec. 22, 1961.
Two children blessed their union, a daughter, Mrs. Mamie Bailey, and a son, Russell, both of Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Erhart was a member of the Deepwater Christian Church. For many years he was employed at the W.S. Dickey clay plant, Deepwater, as pressman, continuing his work there until the plant was closed.
He will be remembered as a kind and devoted father and a helpful neighbor.
Survivors include the daughter and son before mentioned, three grandchildren, Karen and Judy Bailer, and Jimmy Erhart, also a brother Gene Erhart, Deepwater.
