Madalene Sartin Riherd, of Cave City, KY, died Saturday, February 12, 2005. Age 91. Born December 21, 1913 in Tolbert, TX, daughter of the late Ernest & Eva Elizabeth Bartley Sartin, widow of the late Cecil Riherd, married 52 years. Graduate of Cave City High School and Western Kentucky University. Taught school in the Barren County School System including Cedar Hill, Mery Oaks, Carver, Raymond and Park City for 39 years. Member Cave City Church of Christ and taught Sunday school classes most of her life. They had no children of their own, but in 1955, took in 3 of her brother, Jack Sartin's children when his wife died: J.B., Eva Elizabeth and Becky. Survivors: son, J.B. Sartin & wife Barbara of Cave City; 2 daughters, Eva Bogue & husband Bradley of Munfordville, KY and Rebecca J. Hartman of Dunedin, FL; 3 grandchildren, Karrie Lynn Bogue of Lexington, KY, B.L. Bogue II of Munfordville and Jeremy Florek of Smiths Grove, KY; 3 step-grandsons, Ralph Lisby of Indianapolis, IN, Jason Lisby and Joshua Lisby, both of Glasgow; 8 step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Joe Riherd, Frank Riherd, Kenneth Allen Sartin and June Wells; 2 sisters-in-law, Minnie Sartin and Elizabeth Dimbleby; brother-in-law, James Riherd. Services: Tuesday, February 15, 2005, 10 a.m., A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Cave City Cemetery.
