The Hart County native was the son of the late Noah and Lillian Sturgeon Martin. He was a retired machine mechanic for the Mammoth Cave Garment Company and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son: Doug Martin and wife Carolyn of Cave City; two daughters: America Ann Martin and Erica Nicole Martin, both of Glasgow; a sister: Emma Jean Minor of Cave City; two grandchildren: Jason Martin of Bowling Green, and Amanda Martin Sturgeon of Cave City; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Weldon Martin and Vernal Martin; and a sister, Geraldine Minor.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Merrold Hatcher and the Rev. Otis Sturgeon, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, with burial in the Cave City Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 until 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday until time of services at the funeral home.
