Born in 1769, Josefa was the daughter of Juan Suarez Falcon and Isabella Navarro of the Canary Islands, Spain. From there, she came first to Havana, Cuba, aboard the Spanish frigate El Segrado Corazon de Jesus and then to Pensacola. Her children included:

   • Luisa Gertrudis, born 1784, married Frnco de la Rosa, then Mariano Lopez, died 1820 in San Antonio, Texas

   • Maria de la Paz

   • Joseph, born 1788

   • Juan, born 1789, m. Margaretta Bonifay

   • Antonia Juliana, b. 1798, m. S. Caro
