He was a veteran, having proudly served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He married the late Violet Holloway on Jan. 12, 1945, with whom he celebrated more than 55 years of marriage. They lived in Lowville Township for more than 38 years. He was the owner and operator of the Rio Locker Plant for more than 21 years and was an avid bass fisherman.
He is survived by his two sons, one daughter, 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, three sisters, and nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Violet in 2000; daughter, Louise in 1973; brother, Howard; and grandson, Josh Frye. A funeral service was held on Monday at Smith-Vangen Funeral Home, Rio, with Pastor Barry Auch officiating.
