Memorial services for June Ames were held October 1, 2007 at the Jones & Casey Funeral Home with Bishop Boyd Stokes officiating.

June Rose Holt Ames, 85 years of age, passed away September 26 in Salmon. Heaven must have needed an angel.

Ames was born April 26,1922 in Portland, Oregon and lived her younger years in Pocatello. She was one of three children born to Jack and Alta Lee Holt.

She married Daniel Clark William "Bill" Ames on October 22, 1939 in Salmon, They raised four sons.

The couple lived throughout Oregon where Bill worked as a heavy equipment operator. They also moved to California in the early 1940's and worked.

In 1972 they moved to Gibbonsville and made their home. It was there that they owned and operated the 93 Club. After Bill retired they moved to Salmon. They enjoyed fishing and camping. They loved the Salmon area and the people. Bill passed away July 1, 1997 and June continued to live in Salmon.

June treasured Scottie dogs and had several black Scotties of which the last two were names Duffy.

Those who knew her remember her as a wife, mother, sister and friend, and each would say, "She was the best. She was a lady."

Ames was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill and sister Dorothy, son Bill(Rose)Ames and daughter Marge (Bob)Grieve.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Jones & Casy Funeral Home.
