Rev. Ellen L. Herren of Quapaw, Oklahoma died Monday December 21, 2009 at her home after an illness. She was 81.

Rev. Herren was born June 27, 1928 in Joplin, MO to Roy and Bonnie B. (Linn) Hicks.

She had lived in the Quapaw, Baxter Springs Area most of her life.

She was a member of Oklahoma District Council of the Assembly of God, and for the Salivation Army.

She was an Assembly of God pastor for 50 years and was at Quapaw First Assembly of God Church for over 18 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a Sister Juanita Stubblefield, and a Grandson Russell Beattie.

She married Paul W. "Shorty" Herren on July 5, 1944 in Columbus, Kansas. Celebrated 65 years of Marriage. [They celebrated 65 years of marriage. He survives, of the home.]

Survivors includes Her husband Paul W. "Shorty" Herren of the home, three daughters Paula Stiver Of Quapaw, OK, Judy and husband Rusty Beattie of Quapaw, OK, Pam Yardy of Miami, OK, Brother Frank Hicks of Galena, KS, four Grandchildren Larry Stiver, James Beattie, Tommy Yardy and Tony Yardy ten Great-Grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild,

Funeral Services will be Wednesday December 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the North Miami Assembly of God Church in North Miami, OK.

Brother Jason Taylor and Rev. Geoff Buffalo will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Larry Stiver, David Glasscox, Jim Brittle, Tommy Yardy, Tony Yardy and James Beattie.

Interment will be in Beattie Family Cemetery Southeast of Quapaw, OK.

In lieu of flowers may donate to North Miami Assembly of God Church.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Services are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami, OK.
