Eydth "Deedy" Jones Pruessner, 79, of Bryan passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, at Hillier Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Bryan with Father Sean Cox officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. in Glenwood Cemetery in Houston. Father Nicholas Dyke will officiate.

Edyth was a third generation Houstonian who retired to Burleson County for the past 13 years. Edyth loved to cook and quilt, joyfully sharing the gifts of her hands with a multitude of family and friends. She graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1947 and Lon Morris Junior College in Jacksonville, Texas, in 1950.

She grew up attending St Paul's Methodist Church of Houston, transferred to St. Paul's Episcopal of Houston after her marriage and was a current member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Bryan. She was a current or past member of the Creative Memories, Brazos Bluebonnet, Lakeview, and Bay Area Quilt Guilds and she served as PTA president at Milby High School.

She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and aunt.

Edyth was preceded in death by her parents, C. Gordon and Mary Belle Jones; siblings, A. Gordon Jones, Blandin Jones, Mary Frances Reid and Dorothy Galindo; and niece, Anne Jones Brice.

Survivors include her husband of more than 48 years, Robert D. Pruessner of Bryan; daughter, Mary Alice Pruessner of Houston; sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas D. Pruessner and Robert A. and Annie Pruessner, all of Houston; grandchildren, Kegan and Katie Pruessner and Jacob and Emily Jones; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred H. and Dorothy Ann Jones of New Mexico and David H. and Carolyn Jones of Washington, D.C.; and many loving family and friends.
