Pioneer of Valley Died Last Monday
Settled on Brush Creek in the Early Eighties – Had Spent the Past 12 Years in California
Harry P. Moore, one of the early residents of this section, passed away about noon Monday at the Wyoming Hotel, aged 57 years.
Mr. Moore came to Wyoming in 1879 and a short time later settled in the Brush Creek country on land which is now a part f the C. A. Cook ranch and resided in this valley until about 12 years ago, when he removed to California. About two months ago he returned here, accompanied by one of his sons, hoping that the change of climate and altitude would benefit his health. He was a sufferer from cirrhosis of the liver, which disease was the cause of his death.
Deceased was born in Pennsylvania October 2, 1865, and came west with his people when 14 years of age. Surviving him are five children one son residing in the northern part of this state, a married daughter living in Windsor, Colo.; two daughters, Misses Nellie and Goldie, residing in California, and a younger son Raymond, who came here with his father in May. Two sisters also survive him, Mrs. I. M. (Clara) Sanger of French Creek and Mrs. (Ida May) Sanger of Hildreth, Neb.
The funeral service occurred yesterday afternoon at the local Episcopal church, conducted by Rev. Harold Johns, and interment was made in the local cemetery. Undertaker E. L. Gould was in charge of the funeral.
