Martha Mudd Gilkey Dross, 66, Bardstown, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at Life Care Center in Bardstown. She was born April 10, 1943, in the Deatsville area of Nelson County. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Gregory Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by a son, David Gilkey; her mother, Jewell Price Mudd; a sister, Brenda Downs; and two brothers, James Mudd and Joe Mudd. Survivors include a daughter, Paula Sexton (Jack), Bardstown, two sons, Joseph Steven Gilkey, Bardstown, and Bryan Keith Gilkey, Lexington; her father, Joseph W. Mudd, Deatsville, four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six sisters, Linda Humphrey, Mary Ballard, and Anita Mudd, all of Bardstown, Cleada Spalding, Springfield, Becky Mudd, Bloomfield, Janie Farnsworth, Alaska; and five brothers, Jerry Mudd, Michael Mudd, Charlie Mudd, Mark Mudd and David Mudd, all of Cox's Creek. The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Gregory Catholic Church, Samuels, with burial in St. Gregory Church Cemetery. Deacon Joe Filiatreau will be celebrant. Visitation is Tuesday with a vigil at 7 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home. Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
