Hebron Journal 11-25-1943:
Charles A. Jordan died at his home in Hebron, Nebraska on November 14, 1943, at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 3 days. He had been sick since the first of March.
He was born at Sigourney, Iowa, on May 11, 1862, being the youngest in a family of thirteen children born to Cyrus and Rowena Jordan. His parents and brothers and sisters have all preceded him in death.
At an early age, he moved with his parents to Nebraska and has been a resident of that state most of his life.
On January 1st, 1896, he was married to Lavada Underwood. To them were born four children: Golda, who died Oct. 15, 1928; Carmen Bowman of Aurora, Nebr.; Ira of Meadville, Mo.; and Emerson, at home.
Besides his wife and children, Mr. Jordan leaves to mourn his passing, three grandchildren and a host of friends.
Mr. Jordan had joined the church when a young man.
