Valentin Frank was the son of Johann Franck and Anna Maria Reisz. He was born in Alsace in 1770. May 20, 1794, he married Maria Sabina Reis in the German State of Hesse, Darmstadt, Hessen, Germany.

They had 8 children:
Barthel Kissel (1792-1792),
Johann Kissel (1796-1797), (twin)
Katharina (1796-1869), (twin)
Elisabeth (1798-1874),
Johann (1801-1850),
Ludwig (1803-1863),
Valentine (1804-1882) and
Franz (1806-1837).

Johann and Valentine both immigrated to the US (St. Louis) between 1846 and 1950. The balance of the Franck children lived and died in Germany.

Note that the Franck name is spelled both Franck and Frank.
