OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN)
Frank Ernest Adamson, 86, of Wabash, died at 3:20 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Parkview Huntington Hospital in Huntington.
He was born Aug. 25, 1923, in Marion, to Chester and Gladys (Kelly) Adamson. He married Wilma Wright in Andrews, on Aug. 10, 1946; she died July 21, 1970.
Frank was a self employed mason and a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a 53-year member and past commander of the American Legion Post 15, a member of the V.F.W. Post 286, the F.O.P., and the Eagles Lodge Aerie 549, all of Wabash.
He is survived by his four children, David (Wynette) Adamson of Swartz Creek, Mich., Doug (Melinda) Adamson of Salt Lake City, Utah, DeAnne (Ted) Zwicker of McLean, Va., and Dale Adamson of Powhatan, Va.; his significant other, Esther White of Wabash; five grandchildren, Andrea (Joe) Hendrickson and Misty Adamson, both of Iowa City, Iowa, Paris Adamson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Dalton Adamson of Westminster, Md., Megan Zwicker of McLean, Va.; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Hendrickson of Iowa City, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma, two sisters, and his longtime companion and friend, Ruth Hoffman.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Robb Rensberger officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Preferred memorial is Wabash Eagles Lodge Aerie 549.

Phyllis Price was organist. Special music was performed by Mr. Adamson's granddaughter, Megan Zwicker. Memories were shared by his daughter, DeAnne Zwicker, and his son, Dale Adamson. Burial was in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Pallbearers were Douglas Adamson, Dave Adamson, Dale Adamson, Dalton Adamson, Ted Zwicker and Joe Eddingfield. Military graveside services were by the Wabash American Legion Post No.15 and Wabash VFW Post No.286. The flag was presented by American Legion Commander Paul King Sr.
