Thomas Lane Kemp, 86, of north of Hagers Grove, passed away Wed. afternoon, Sept. 10, 1969, at the Medical Center at Columbia where he had been a patient for several weeks.
Mr. Kemp had been in Ill health for several years. He was born June 9, 1883 at Huntingburg, Indiana, a son of George and Louise Poth Kemp. On Jan. 13, 1916, he was married at Clarence to Pearl Johnson. He had lived in the Cherry Box community for 57 years where he had farmed and north of Hagers Grove only a few years. Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Bill of Bozeman, Mont., Jim of Kirksville and Bob of Clarence; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Priest of Elkhart, Kansas, and Mrs. Jo Fuqua of Waterloo, Iowa; three brothers , Will, Emmett, and Orval Kemp all of Huntingburg, Ind.; three sisters Mrs. Node Mansfield, Mrs. Kate Burgdolph, both of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Naomi Frick of Huntingburg, Ind., and other
relatives. He was a member of the Cherry Box Christian Church. Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 12, 1969, at 2 P.M. at the Greening Funeral Home in Clarence. Bro. W. B. Damron, Church of the Brethren minister of Cherry Box, officiated. Burial was in Maplewood./
