Mrs. Paul (Bette Lea Barber) Storms Sr., 80, of Morris, formerly of Joliet, died early Friday morning, Nov. 16, 2007, in Morris Hospital with her loving family and friends at her bedside.

Funeral services were held at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Ambassadors for Christ Church, with the Rev. Elmer L. Powell officiating.

Interment followed at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Visitation was held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Arrangements have been trusted to U.C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home, Ltd., 301 W. Washington St. Morris.

Mrs. Storms was born Jan. 1, 1927, in Oakland, Calif., the daughter of Hollis M. and Thelma K. Cullen Barber. She married Paul L. Storms Sr. on March 22, 1945, in Norfolk, Va.

She was a member of, and Sunday School teacher at, the Assembly of God Church and Ambassadors for Christ Church.

She loved to sew and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Storms is survived by her husband, Paul L. Storms Sr. of Morris; one daughter, Gail Holderfield of Morgan Hill, Calif.; two sons, Paul L. (special friend Rita) Storms Jr. of Camp Verde, Ariz., and Robert (Kitty) Storms of Irvine, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, Denny, Jeff, Chad, Glen, James and Charity Holderfield, Amber Berg, Chris, Joshua, Jesse, Hollie and Sara Storms, and Kyle Storms; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia A. Barber Rodgers of Brentwood, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers, Robert, Hollis M. "Buzz" and Donald R. Barber.

Preferred memorials are gifts made in Mrs. Storm's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
