HEAD, JOHN C. JR., 78, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Jefferson Manor Nursing Home. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, and graduated from St. Joseph's College, Rensselaer, IN, with a degree in accounting and entered his life profession as a CPA. He has been chairman of the Federal Income Tax Committee of the Continental Association of CPA's, Denver, CO, and has served on committees for both the Indiana and Illinois CPA Societies. He was chairman of the Illinois CPA Society's Federal Income Tax Committee, general vice chairman of all the tax committees, general chairman and a member of the Illinois CPA Society's Tax Executive Committee. He had articles published by the Illinois CPA Society Newsjournal, The Practical Accountant and Commerce Clearing House. He also authored several of KMG Main Hurdman's National Tax Releases. He was a member of the Lion's Club, the Paralyzed Veterans of America and served the Service Corporation of Retired Executives (SCORE) for 10 years. John is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Patricia Head; a son, John C. Head III; and two daughters, Jennifer Head and Beth Head. His funeral Mass will be noon Saturday at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, New Haven, KY. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Friday at Arch L. Heady Westport Road. Memorial contributions may be given to Mass of the Air, Hosparus of Louisville, or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
