"Mr. John Henry Meadows, a highly respected citizen of Miami, died at his home Friday, July 22nd at 12:30 p.m., at the age of fifty-five. Mr. Meadows was born in Louisiana. Several years later he went to New Mexico where he resided eighteen years. He was united in marriage to Miss Cordelia Browning and to this happy couple eight children were born,five boys and three girls, Mrs., T.J. Bogrin of For Worth, Texas; Mrs. Charles Simpkins of Miami; Miss Meadows and John, Frank, Weaver, Phelps and Bee Meadows. Mr. Meadows also leaves a mother, aged Eighty-one in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Meadows has been in Arizona for four years and was a trusted employee of the Inspiration Copper Company up until the time of his sudden death. The funeral services were held at Miles Chapel at one o'clock Sunday and conducted by Rev. T.E. Summers. He was laid to rest in the Pinal cemetery at two o'clock. He lived a Christian life and was a member of the Baptist church, was a kind husband and a loving and cheerful father and good friend. To his bereaved family the entire community extend their deepest sympathy.
