Helen Daisy Bailey, age 76, of Solway, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2006, at her home.

Mrs. Bailey was born July 17, 1929, in Roane County to the late Rainer F. and Gracie Mae Carter Huckaby. Helen was a member of the Solway Baptist Church and loved her children and helped to raise many other children as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John H. Bailey, and brother Clyde Huckaby.

She is survived by her son, Johnny D. Bailey; daughters, Jesse B. Roberts and Freda Jo Miller; brother, James W. Huckaby; sisters, Nancy Ray and Charlotte Denton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 9, 2006, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Dean officiating. Interment followed at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family received friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2006, at the funeral home.
