Otis J. Penrose, 86, of Bolivar, formerly of Robinson, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

Born Sept. 18, 1918, in Robinson, West Wheatfield Township, he was the son of the late Charles and Cora (Lichtenfels) Penrose.

Mr. Penrose was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Second World War.

He served as a West Wheatfield Township supervisor for more than 30 years.

Mr. Penrose was a good father who loved his children and grandchildren.

He enjoyed hunting and time with his friends.

Surviving are his children, Harold and his wife Nora (Roby), Heshbon, Karen Buckles and her husband Gary, Bolivar, Delores Thompson and her husband Kerry, Robinson, Beverly LaMantia and her husband Joel, Brush Valley and Louanne Naylor and her husband, Donald, Robinson;

Also 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Irene Baird, of Bolivar.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Edith M. Layman Penrose, on Sept. 29, 2001; a granddaughter, Tammy Penrose;

Also six brothers: John, Earl, William, Harry, Thomas and Leroy; three sisters: Emma Boring, Alberta Oliver and Violet Short.

Services were held at the Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence, with Rev. Joanie Scarff officiating.

Interment was in Germany Lutheran Cemetery.
