Mr. and Mrs Bert Schroder were in Sheldon, Saturday attending the funeral services held for their nephew, Cullen Schroder, whose body arrived from overseas for burial.
He was the son of Mr and Mrs. Vernon Schroder.
Cullen was born in Sibley. He was killed in action in Germany on March 6, 1945, at the age of 19. he was buried in Henri Chappele Cemetery at Eupen, Belgium, where the body rested until removed to the U.S. transport Robert Burns, which arrived in the United States, on November 24.
Full military honors were paid by veterans of the VFW and of the American Legion of Sheldon with Commander Donald Gintert and al Dykstra in charge. the Rev., Thomas Lutman preached at the service which were held in the Temple Mortuary. Burial was in the Sheldon Cemetery.
