George White was born in Mt. Pleasant Township, Columbia Co., PA. George was a farmer throughout his life. He married Mary Elizabeth Appleman around 1851 in Columbia Co., PA. They had 7 children prior to her death in 1880, in Taylor Co., IA. His second wife was Lucinda C. (Davenport) Ditch. This was her fourth marriage. They were married in Taylor Co., IA on December 25th 1881. They emigrated to Lakin Township, Harvey Co., KS, in 1883, and remained there until their deaths. They had 4 children. Three of their grandchildren are buried nearby, Richard, Ruby Olive and Ruth Marie White.
