Vida Gail Langdon was born Nov. 16, 1890 at Neligh, Nebr., the youngest daughter of Nimrod and Annie Burns. She died May 16, 1984 at Niobrara County Nursing Home in Lusk.

She spent her youth on a farm in the Neligh area. On Dec. 4, 1907 she married Frederick Jennings Langdon. They homesteaded south of Van Tassell in 1910. They worked the ranch until 1927 when they moved to Voerland, Kans. for 11 years, returning to the ranch in 1937. Mr. Langdon died in 1960 and she remained in the Van Tassel area until 1969 when she purchased a home in Lusk.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two children, Luella B. and Eldon F.; five brothers and sisters; two grandsons, Richard W. Cummings and Dennis L. Langdon.

She is survived by four grandchildren, Beverly J. Miller, Peggy A. Vernon, Gary L. Cummings, and Loren P. Pearce and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk, May 21, 1984 with the Rev. Frank Blish officiating. Music was provided by Edna DeCastro, organist, and Joy Kaltenheuser who sang "Beautiful Isle" and "Beyond the Sunset."

Pallbearers were Herbert Tadewald, Dan Tadewald, Clarence West, William Immesoete, Jerry Lewis and Dale Miller.

Interment was at Lusk Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Niobrara Senior Center.
