[The Toccoa Record / Thursday, December 26, 1912] - The Death Angel came to our vicinity last Friday December 20th, and took our beloved neighbor, Mrs. B. P. Brown, widow of the late B. P. Brown Sr. and mother of B. P. Brown Jr., Ordinary of Stephens County, and of the following other children: W. P. Brown & H. I. Brown, of this county, and Joseph Brown of Alb, Mrs. Nancy Terrell and Mrs. Mary King of Franklin County, Mrs. Emma Farmer of this county, and Mrs. Sarah Loudermilk of Habersham County. She leaves several grandchildren and lots of relatives and friends to mourn her loss. At the time of her death, Mrs. Brown was 72 years of age. She was a friend to all in need and a noble Christian working, having been a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church for 42 years. (Corrections made to original obituary)
