Henry Scarborough Dunton, 86, husband of Bertha Smullin Dunton and a resident Nassawadox, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. A native of Northampton County, he was the son of the late James Edmund and Sallie Joynes Dunton. He was a retired farmer and a member of Red Bank Baptist Church, and Broadwater Masonic Lodge #71 AF&AM.

Other than his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Sarah Patricia Mears of Nassawadox, Bridgette Silvia and her husband Ed of Pungoteague, Paulette Killmon of Easton, MD; a grandson, William Baldwin Bynum, Jr. (Win) of Virginia Beach, Va. He was predeceased by a son, William B. Bynum and two brothers, James E. "Buck" Dunton, William Thomas Dunton, and a sister, Mary Emily Dunton Badger.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Red Bank Baptist Church with the Rev. John Robertson and the Rev. Bill Charnock officiating. A private interment will be held at the Cape Charles Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Red Bank Baptist Church, c/o Mike Zodun, P.O. Box 564, Belle Haven,Va. 23306.
