Albert, son of August and Caroline Bergman, was born in Schuyler County, Mo., May 31, 1868, and had lived his entire life in the vicinity of Queen City.

He departed this life at the Grim-Smith hospital at Kirksville, Mo., Dec 24, 1936, at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 23 days, after having been bedfast for the last eight weeks. His death was attributed to heart disease.

He was united in marriage to Miss Anna Arni, Feb. 7, 1892. To this union five children were born. He leaves to mourn his passing his faithful wife and the following children: Mrs. C. C. Figge of Queen City, Arni Bergman of Davenport, Iowa, Mrs. M. C. Sommer of Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. J. E. Snowbarger and Birney Bergman of Queen City, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert of Queen City and Henry of Salem, Calif. He was preceded in death by two brothers August and Lewis and two sisters Emma Snowbarger and one infant sister. He united with the St. John Lutheran church in young manhood and remained a faithful member until the end.

Funeral services were held at the St. John Lutheran church Saturday, Dec. 26, conducted by the Rev. Edgar L. Knight, pastor of the first Christian church of Kirksville. Interment at the Germania cemetery.
