Levant Hardwick, son of Riley Henry Hardwick and Emma Ulrich Hardwick.
Killed by a Base Ball.
"The dead body of Levant Hartwick, the 18-year old son of Riley Hartwick of Sioux Falls, was found in a clump of willows on the Big Sioux River. While engaged in a ball game at Beresford on the Fourth of July he was struck in the head by a ball and fainted, but upon being revived insisted upon playing the game out. He afterwards was very drowsy and was placed on a train and sent home. He was found asleep in the car after the passengers had left the train at the Sioux Falls depot, started away and was not seen again until his body was found, having evidently crawled into the clump of willow to die."
