Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Newton with full military rites performed by Olney veterans.
Mr. Ellison was born January 12, 1945, the son of Eark and Virginia (Bemont) Ellison. He married Jan Hayes on September 6, 1979. She survives.
Mr. Ellison graduated from East Richland High School in 1963. He entered the Air Force after graduation and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. After leaving the Air Force, he attended Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel earning a degree in Forestry. He was a member of Olney American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a lifelong musician and passionate about country music. He especially enjoyed playing music with his brothers.
Mr. Ellison is survived by his mother, Virginia Ellison, of Olney; wife, Jan Ellison, of Bridgeport; brother, Bill Ellison and his wife, Jackie, of Olney; brother, Terry Ellison and his wife, Helen, of Olney; sister, Ann Shuck and her husband, Rick, of Olney; brother, Jay Ellison and his wife, Cindy, of Olney; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eark Ellison, stepson, Monty Blair, and his beloved cocker spaniel, Sandy.
