David L. Jacobs, 55, of Rives, died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at his residence. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Alamo Baptist Church with Bro. Donald Doster officiating. Burial in Alamo Cemetery, Rives with Murphy Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Kevin Jacobs, Brian Ray, Chris Ray, Josh Ray, Eathan Jacobs, Travis Reaves, Kyle Reaves and Jason Shanes served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Harry Lee Caudle, Marvin Alexander, Bucky Harris, Jerry Sellers, Will Wade, Billy Turner and David Murphy.
Jacobs was born October 18, 1954, in Martin, son of Beatrice Hill Jacobs of Rives and the late Floyd Laymon Jacobs. He was a graduate of Obion County High School, a farmer and member of Alamo Baptist Church.
Survivors also include his wife, Mrs. Judy Steward Jacobs of Rives; two daughters, Amy Jacobs and Ashley Jacobs, both of Nashville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Laymon and Sarah Jacobs, Richard "Dickie" and Michelle Jacobs, all of Rives; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Jeannie and Tim Jacobs of Martin, Janice and Eddie Ray of Africa. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Teresa Reaves.
