Mrs. Dellinger was born April 3, 1919 in Cleveland County, daughter of the late Robert L. Newton and Bertha Hoyle Newton. She was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ.
Mrs. Dellinger was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dellinger; three brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol D. Padgett and husband Jack of Newland, NC; grandchildren, Audrey Ryan and husband Tony of Mooresville, NC, and Charlene Ozment of Reidsville, NC; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Grace Sain and husband Harold of Newland, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2009 at Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ with Rev. Lonny McSherley officiating. Burial will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Kadesh United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lawndale, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. Friday, prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, 217 2nd Ave. NE, Conover, NC 28613 or to Abernethy Laurels, 102 Leonard Ave., Newton, NC 28658.
