Robert L. Kopet, 74 of 1010 39th SE, died Thursday September 7, 2000, in St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Karl Glovik officiating. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Mausoleum Columbarium. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.

Survivors include three sons, William and his wife, Kim, and Robert, all of Cedar Rapids. and Terrence of Taos, N.M.: a daughter, Sharon Wisehart of Cedar Rapids; four brothers, John and Joseph of Minneapolis, James of Mequon, Wisconsin, Larry of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, and two sisters. Vera Franke and Lois Zeeb of Milwaukee.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, T.J., Scott, Matt, Joe, Nathan, Becky, Justin, Jerrico, Colton and Courtney: and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Kopet and Sadie (Johnson) Kopet Ritter, a son Steven and a brother Frank.

Robert was born November 3, 1925, in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He married Shirley M. Ritter on Feb. 14, 1946 in Dubuque, Iowa. She died in April of this year. Robert worked at Highway Equipment as a foreman for 14 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, the American Legion and served in the Navy during WWII.

A memorial fund has been established in Bob's Name.
