Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Neely Landrum officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Hughs Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ford was born Aug. 5, 1930, in Memphis, to the late James "Bud" M. Norman and Ruby F. Stone Norman. She graduated from Memphis High School in 1947.
She received her bachelor of science degree in psychology from Wayland Baptist College in May 1971 and completed work toward a master of science degree at West Texas State University.
She married J.H. Ford on April 1, 1961, in Hall County. She moved to Memphis from Vernon in 1988.
She retired in 1993 after a long career with the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation where she served as director of Childress Mental Health Center.
She served on the board of directors of Childress Mental Health Center and on the State Board of Certification for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors. She was a certified alcoholism and drug abuse counselor, certified chemical dependency counselor and certified in psychodrama.
She was certified as a pilot in August 1969 and was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Red Hatters Club, The 51 Club, The Medicare Group and First United Methodist Church where she served on the church board.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 13, 1999; and a brother, Frank Norman.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Dell Rich of Frisco, Norman John Rich of Midland and Danny J. Ford of New Home; a daughter, Judy Ann Erreca of Bakersfield, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
