LULA "KATIE" LEONA WOOD
---Lula "Katie" Leona Wood, age 84, of La Plata, Missouri passed away Wednesday (December 28, 2005) at the Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon, Missouri.
---Born August 11, 1921 in Yarrow, Missouri she was the daughter of Arthur T. and Charlotte Pearl (Belfield) Easley. On April 26, 1946 in Hamilton, Missouri she married Earl J. Wood, who preceded her in death on January 4, 1972.
---Also preceding her in death were her parents, five brothers and five sisters.
---Survivors include one step-daughter, Willa Groseclose of Huntsville, Missouri; one sister, Idalee Curtis of Yarrow, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
---Katie lived in the La Plata community most all of her life. She was employed with Florsheim Shoe Factory for twenty years.
---Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (December 31, 2005) at the Tavis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be Pastor Sheila Swafford. Music will be provided by organist, Shirley Matticks. Musical selection will be "In The Sweet By and By".
---Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery, La Plata, Missouri. Pallbearers will be Andy Gray, Greg Gay, Bill Gray, Chris Cannaday, David Murray and Terry Gray.
---Visitation will be Friday (December 30, 2005) from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Travis Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Missouri 63549.
