KLEFFNER Dessie "Viola" Kleffner, age 84, of Jefferson City, formerly of Brinktown, departed this life on Friday, December 1, 2006, at her residence in Jefferson City. Mrs. Kleffner had been in failing health for sometime.

She was born on December 27, 1921, in Dixon, a daughter of Archie Clifford and Laura Pauline (Juergens) Irvin. Mrs. Kleffner was united in marriage on May 30, 1946, at Kansas City, to Antonius "Tony" Theodor Kleffner, and to this union, three children were born.

Mrs. Kleffner was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown and had attended the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church while living in Jefferson City. She was a teacher at the Branson Posterity School for four years. She also worked at Brown Shoe Factory for several years. She was a life long farmer in Brinktown for 49 years.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Kleffner include: two daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Kleffner, Jefferson City, Linda and Leroy Otto, Meta; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Kleffner, Loose Creek; one sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Forrest Durnell, Willard; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on June 9, 2006; one son, Daniel Kleffner; her parents; five brothers, Loran, Elvis, Earl, Virgil, and Victor Irvin; one son-in-law, Clifford Emory.

A prayer service will be conducted for Mrs. Kleffner at 7:30 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2006, in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with Msgr. Marion Makarewicz leading.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Kleffner at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2006, in the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown, with Msgr. Marion Makarewicz officiating. Lectors for the Mass are Kathy and Patrick Stefanski, Acolytes are Ethan and Evan Kleffner. During the Offertory Procession, the Gifts will be borne to the altar by Karen Keltner, Debbie Goeller, Christina Wilson, and Laura Goeller. Appropriate musical selections will be provided by the Donna Kay Family.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2006, and 8:30-9:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2006, in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.

Interment will be in the Guardian Angels Cemetery, Brinktown, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Active pallbearers for Mrs. Kleffner are: Aaron Keltner, Chris Goeller, Curtis Kleffner, Douglas Kleffner, Gordon Durnell, and Lonnie Irvin. Honorary pallbearers are: Dean Matlock and Victor Irvin Jr. Masses or memorials are suggested to the Optioncare Missouri River Hospice, Jefferson City, with envelopes available in the Vienna office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
