Clarence E. Bumbaugh served as a Shipfitter 1st Class in the United States Naval Reserve Forces during World War I.

He was a son of James W. Bumbaugh and Martha A. (Seace) Bumbaugh.

He was originally from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

He was employed as a Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg National Military Park.

He was interred in the Gettysburg National Cemetery on October 28, 1957.

Clarence E. Bumbaugh, 69, died at his home, 112 Hanover St., at 3:30 o'clock this morning. He had been in ill health since June.

A native of Gettysburg, he was a Navy veteran of World War I and a battlefield guide for many years. He was a son of the late James and Martha (Sease) Bumbaugh.

Survivors include his wife, the former Marion Craig; a daughter, Bernice, at home; a brother, Harry Bumbaugh, battlefield guide, and a sister, Miss Cora Bumbaugh, both of Gettysburg.

SERVICES MONDAY

He was a member of the Sucon Lodge of the Masons, of Coopersburg, Pa., of the Harrisburg Zembo Temple, and was also a member of the Gettysburg Battlefield Guides Association, of the Albert J. Lentz, American Legion, the Gettysburg Elks, and was an honorary member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Gettysburg.

Funeral services Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Peters Funeral Home with the Rev. William Fenstermaker, pastor of the local Methodist Church, officiating. Interment in the National Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock.

Military rites at the grave will be conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard.

Members of the Elks Lodge will meet at the funeral home Sunday at 7 p.m.
