Kokomo Daily Tribune - Wednesday, April 11, 1906:

Joseph Addison Williams was born July 8, 1845 in Belmont County, Ohio and died at his late home on Louisa Street in Kokomo on April 11, 1906 at 6:30 a.m. of pneumonia at age 61 years.

The funeral will take place at the house Friday morning at 10 o'clock conducted by this pastor, Rev. J. H. MacNeill, of the Main Street Christian Church. The remains will find a resting place from the turmoils of life in Crown Point Cemetery.

The deceased was united in marriage to Miss Loudiska Rodkey at Whitesville, Missouri on December 28, 1875. To this union, five children were born, all of whom, together with their mother, survive him. Soon after their marriage they began housekeeping on a farm in Monroe Township near the village of Shanghai. Later, he moved to Russiaville where for several years he was engaged in business. In February 1890, he moved with his family to Kokomo where for sixteen years he has been engaged in the feed and produce business.

The children who survive him are Oliver, the proprietor of the Oliver Hotel; Miss Margaret E., stenographer at the Lindell Hotel; Calvin Clyde of Kansas City, Missouri; Curtis and Grace. The deceased was a member of the Friends church by birthright until about eight years ago when he united with the Main Street Christian Church.

His was a good, quiet life, free from orientation or taint of parade. He was a man honored and respected by all who knew him. He is also survived by a brother, Jesse D. Williams of Monroe Township, and a sister, Mrs. Augustus Jones of Fort Wayne Avenue, Kokomo.
