Kokomo Daily Tribune - Tuesday, February 19, 1907:

Nancy A. Edgerton, wife of J. F. Pickett, died this morning at 2:30 at her late home on East Walnut Street, aged 76 years. the funeral will take place at the house Thursday. The exact hour has not been announced. The burial will take place in Crown Point Cemetery.

The deceased was born in Wayne County, Indiana, November 23, 1831. She was united in marriage to John C. Pickett in the city of Richmond, Indiana on December 23, 1858. Their union was blessed with three daughters, two of whom died in infancy. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Miss Alice. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother.

For seven years, she has been a child of affliction and was most of that time confined to her home. In 1871, she was licensed as an accredited minister of the gospel in the Friends Church. The family moved to this city in 1887. She was a good, quiet, unassuming workman, whose realm of usefulness was the home circle. Her affliction had grown to be such of late years that the death messenger came to her as a welcome release from the cares and sorrows of life.

The relatives who will be here to attend the funeral are her sister, Mrs. Dennie Townsend of Richmond; Mr. and Mrs. Eber Pickett of Marion; William and Albert Pickett of Richmond. She has a sister in St. Louis and a brother at Riverton, Iowa who cannot be here.
