Kokomo Tribune – Wednesday, February 18, 1925:

After a prolonged invalidism patient endured, Clementine Sharp Haseltine, wife of William Haseltine of the jewelry firm of Hazeltine Bros., died at the family home on West Walnut Street at 6:45 this morning.

Mrs. Haseltine had been confined to her home nearly ten years, the breakdown in her health occurring about the time of the beginning of the World War. She had long been under the care of a nurse. About two weeks ago a complication arose which developed into pneumonia. She had shown improvement from this, however, in the last two or three days and seemed to be recovering from it. The end came suddenly and unexpectedly.

Mrs. Haseltine was a member of a pioneer family, and her entire life was spent in or near Kokomo. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sharp, who in an early day owned much of the land now covered over by South Kokomo. The old Sharp homestead, one of the oldest brick structures in Center Township, still stands out on Home Avenue, a short distance north of the Belt Railroad. There Clementine Sharp was born and reared, and there on January 6, 1881, she was entered into marriage with William Haseltine.

The husband and two children, Mark S. Haseltine, Forest Drive, Forest Park, and Miss Della Haseltine, at home, and one grandson, Mark Haseltine, Jr., survive.

Mrs. Haseltine was the last survivor but one of the Joseph Sharp family. A sister, Mrs. Emma Cyrus, resides in Palatka, Florida. There were several brothers and sisters, recalled now only by the old-time residents of the community, but all these save Mrs. Haseltine and Mrs. Cyrus have been dead several years.

The funeral services will be held at the home Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, the Rev. Hurd Allyn Drake, pastor of the Presbyterian Church of which Mrs. Haseltine had been a member many years, officiating. The burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery.
