Miss Emily Gammans, 85, West Sycamore Street, died in the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital at 11:30 pm. Saturday following a short illness. Born in New Albany on March 2, 1882, she was the daughter of Robert and Susan (Mercer) Gammans.
Most of her life was spent in Indianapolis, but she had lived here for the past four years. She was formerly employed as treasurer of the bond department of the American Fletcher National Bank in Indianapolis and had served with that institution for more than 50 years. She was a member of Christ Church Cathedral at Indianapolis.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Clara Bridwell, Kokomo, with whom she made her home; and Mrs. David (Edna) Brown and Mrs. Roscoe (Agnes) Tillett, both of Kokomo; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Ellers Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 4 p.m. Monday.
