SHREVEPORT, LA – A Funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Betty P. Bounds will be held at Rose-Neath Southside in Shreveport, Louisiana at 10:00 a.m. on December 23, 2016. The family will have a visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016. Reverend Emile A. Rousseau, Jr. will be officiating.

Mrs. Betty was born May 10, 1941 in Mira, Louisiana to James Roy Parker and Pearl Patterson Parker. And passed away December 20, 2016. She was a licensed practical nurse at The Glen Nursing Home until she retired. She loved her family as they were truly her strength, she also enjoyed bowling, using her green thumb with her garden, and bringing her imagination to life with various arts and crafts.

She is preceded in death by parents Roy Parker and Pearl Parker; sister, Reba Parker Watson; brother, James K. Parker; sons, Allen Dwight Bounds Jr. and Jeffery Glenn Bounds. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Allen Dwight Bounds of Shreveport; son, Timothy Scott Bounds of Shreveport; grandchild, Coty Allen Bounds of Bethany; brother, John Parker and wife, Jo of Dixie, LA; sisters, Julia Uhrig of Centerton AR, Barbara Strickland and husband, Russ Strickland of Mexia, TX, and Penny Nolte and husband, David Nolte of Queen City, TX; along with numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family.

Honoring Betty as pallbearers will be Dennis Bennett, Tommy Parker, Coty Bounds, Tyler Kerly, Chris Parker, and James Strickland.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Parker and Tracy Bennett.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the loving staff of The Grace Home.
