Grandy, NC - Kenneth Henry Waterfield, 75, a retired grocer, died Tuesday at 2 a.m. in Albemarle Hospital. A native of Mamie, he was the husband of Mrs. Lillian Gallop Waterfield and a son of William H. and Mrs. Almira Sawyer Waterfield. He lived here seven years and was a member of Powells Point Christian Church. Surving besides his widow are five sons, Kenneth Nile Waterfield of Norfolk, William H. Waterfield of Virginia Beach, Sam H. Waterfield of Chesapeake, Kenneth H. Waterfield, Jr. of Grandy, and Army Spec. 6, George Derwood Waterfield of Germany; three daughters, Mrs. Martha Newbern of Powells Point, Mrs. Neomia Marks of Capron, VA, and Mrs. Margaret Jones of Virginia Beach; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted today at 3 p.m. in Powells Point Baptist Church by the Rev. Earl Best. Buriel will be in the church cemetery at Mamie. The body will be taken from Twiford Funeral Home to the church at 2 p.m.
