Miss Maudie Mae Bennett, 92, died Monday afternoon (December 14, 2009) at Satilla Care Center (Ware Co) after an extended illness.

She is a native of Pierce County, and she has lived most of her life in the Waycross area. She was a homesitter who stayed in people's homes and took special care of them in their time of need. She was raised and affiliated with the Primitive Baptist faith.

She is the daughter of the late George W. Bennett and Alice Marie Youmans Bennett. She was the last of their nine children.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday (December 18, 2009) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ben James Cemetery in Pierce County. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
