BERTHA ZINN
Bertha Sarah Zinn of Derby passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 1963, at the Baker Nursing Home in Chariton at the age of 83 years, eight months and 15 days.
A daughter of William and Nancy Eden Adams, she was born May 22, 1879 at Sweet Water, Ill.
She was married to Charlie Zinn, August 18, 1899, at Petersburg, Ill. They came to Iowa in 1905 where they had since lived.
She is survived by three children: Earl L. of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Gladys Foreman of Derby and Charles W. of Van Meter; a son-in-law Leslie Foreman; a daughter-in-law, Pauline Zinn; a granddaughter, Lorraine Mahaffey; two grandsons, William and Albert Zinn, and a great-granddaughter, Sherry Mahaffey. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie, last March 15; her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
She joined the Christian church of Sweet Water, Ill., at an early age.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 10, 1963, at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Bettis officiating. Interment was in the Derby cemetery.
