Ava Marie Calbreath, 56, of Duluth, passed away Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, while at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn. Ava struggled with a rare illness, Neuro-sarcoidosis, which took her from her family prematurely. She was born July 16, 1950, in Chicago, Ill.

On Sept. 28, 1985, Ava married Bruce Calbreath. They moved to Duluth in 1988. Prior to their move, Ava worked for AT&T, in Chicago, as a manager in the financial department, for 11 years. In Duluth, she was very involved with the Council of Churches and United Way. She served for many years as a Certified Lay Pastor with the Wrenshall, Carlton and Pioneer Parish Presbyterian Churches and was employed by KDLH-TV and Adecco Temp Services.

Ava was preceded in death by her first husband, Count Bruce Glover; and her parents.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce; her children, Raymond and Robert Glover, Matthew Calbreath, Mandi (Don) Peet, Kari (Scott) Belobrajdic, and Blaine Calbreath; two brothers, David and Dan Pearson; sister, Julie Pearson; and many other relatives and friends. Ava touched the lives of many with her gentle and caring spirit. She will be dearly missed.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service, Saturday, Nov. 4, in Peace United Church of Christ. The family prefers memorials in lieu of flowers, which they will donate to research for Neuro-sarcoidisis.
