She married William Lanter on May 20, 1869. They had six children, three died at a young age.
She was a large woman with dark eyes and dark hair and was over six feet tall. This was passed on to many of her children and grandchildren. Her later years were spent normally with one of her three sons.
She passed away near Polk Co., Bolivar, MO while living with her son, Sexton, on November, 6, 1909. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. a note on her tombstone reads, "Dear mother, though we miss you much, we know you rest with God."
