DURHAM, Mrs. MARY JANE (WHEAT)
Mrs. Mary Jane Durham (Mary Jane Wheat) Dead

Mrs. Mary Jane Durham, wife of J.B. Durham, died Monday night about 12:00 o'clock on September 8, 1913, at her home about two miles south of town at the age of 57 years. She was the daughter of John Wheat and was born and raised in this country. She was married to J.B. Durham, to which union there was born 12 children, three of whom are dead and nine living as follows: Mrs. John Best, Mrs. Kieffer, Mrs. Jim Sims, Mrs. Harvey Foxworth, Miss Lydia, Levi, Ed, Britt and Hill.

She was the daughter of one of the pioneer settlers of this country, her father having come here in 1835. She leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn her death. Her remains were laid to rest in the Mount Pisgah cemetery, funeral services being conducted by Reverend B. F. Stewart.
