Mrs. Bertha L. Larew, 69, died Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Culver Hospital after a three-months illness. She had lived all her life in Elmdale and Waynetown except for three years spent in Missouri.
Born Sept. 18, 1882, the deceased was the daughter of Edward and Mary Shelly Goff. She married Gene A. Larew on Dec. 24, 1902.
She was a member of the Christian Union Church at Waynetown and the Waynetown Chapter of the Order of Easter Star.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by six sons, Col. Walter Larew of falls Church, Va., Merle Larew of Crawfordsville, Edward Larew of Waynetown, Charles Larew of New Market, Robert Larew of Wingate and Billy Larew of R.F.D. 2, Crawfordsville; five daughters, Mrs. Lena Sentman of Indianapolis, Mrs. Mary Diegel of Philadelphia, Mrs. Mildred Horrocks of Waynetown, Mrs. Ruth Myers of Hillsboro and Mrs. Betty Ping of Battle Ground; one brother, Charles Goff of Wingate; one half-brother, Ray Goff, of Mindenmines, Mo.; one half-sister, Mrs. Cora Kingley of Detroit and 34 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the family residence, three and one-half miles southeast of Waynetown. The body will lie in state one house before the services. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Christian Union Church with Rev. John R. Servies and Rev. Guy E. Tremaine officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic cemetery.
