Alton Leroy Grems, 78. Tonganoxie. passed away Monday, Feb. 17, at the Providence-St. Margaret Medical Center. Mr. Grems was born in Tonganoxie August 26, 1907, and had lived here his entire lifetime. He was a member of the Tonganoxie United Methodist Church. He was employed by the Kansas Turnpike until his retirement about 15 years ago.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Anna (Clark) Grems of the home; three sons, Bill Grems, Aurora, Colo., Bob Grems, Bonner Springs, Ks., and Jim Grems, Lawrence; five daughters, Mrs. Ralph (JoAnn) Brown, Slidell, La., Mrs. Jack (Jane) Howard, Lawrence, Mrs. Linda Leonard, Santa Ana, Ca., Mrs. Virginia Retzma, Irvine, Ca., and Mrs. Ruth Lee, Lawrence; three sisters, Mrs. Leo (Ruby) Kramer and Mrs. Edward (Edna) Klinkenberg, both of Tonganoxie and Mrs. Zelda Barber, Yucca Valley; twenty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
