White died Tuesday (Dec. 28, 1982) of an apparent heart attack after stopping the motorcycle he was riding along Redwood Avenue.
Born Sept. 5, 1919 in Los Angeles, White served 20 years in the U.S. Navy, including action in World War II and the Korean conflict. Later he retired after 18 years as a security guard at Knott's Berry Farm, and moved to Grants Pass in 1979.
He belonged to Grants Pass Elks Lodge 1584 and Fleet Reserve Association Branch 68.
Surviving are daughters Johnny Dombrowski of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Patty Uchida of Woodland Hills, Calif., sister Marjorie Frantz of Washington, D.C., three grandsons.
