Candler - Joe Hannah, 78, died Sunday, November 15, 2009, at Canton Chris tian Convalescent
Center.
A native of Macon County, he was a son of the late Henry and
Willie Green Hannah. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife,
Ollivee Carver Hannah, who died in 2003. He was a United States Navy veteran of the
Korean War.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Hannah and his wife, Donna, and Shane Hannah, all of Candler; four daughters, Diane Stamey and her husband, Pete, Kathy Howell and her husband, Ron, Nancy Stamey and her husband, David, all of Candler, and Shelly Syfrett and her husband, Drew, of Statensburg; one sister, Evelyn Smith of Clyde; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Ridgeway Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jack W. Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
