Hattie Willis, 86, of Arab died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, at Golden Living of Arab. Mrs. Willis was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Alabama to M.O. and Mattie Smith Hayes. She was married to Hubert Willis, who passed away March 24, 1998. She was an inspector at Blue Bell before her retirement and a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Gail and Mickey Hunt of Arab; granddaughter: Rebecca Hunt of Arab; brother: Lowell Hayes of Douglas; two sisters: Betty Harper and Ruby Webb of Arab; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister: Ina Perkins; and two brothers; James Hayes and Jowell Hayes. The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, at Arab Memorial Chapel, with Mickey Hunt giving the eulogy. Burial was in Brashier's Chapel Cemetery, with Arab Memorial Chapel directing. Pallbearers were Waylon Harper, Danny Hayes, John Hayes, Roger Jones, Bruce Jackson and Mack Henderson.
